Description
Baker Botts L.L.P. is seeking an associate to join our Intellectual Property Department in any of our domestic offices (Austin, Dallas, Houston, New York, Palo Alto, San Francisco, Washington, DC). We are looking for a highly motivated associate with 1–4 years of patent prosecution experience, preferably with pharmaceutical prosecution experience. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge intellectual property matters within a collaborative and dynamic environment.

Qualifications:
Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Biochemistry or Chemical Engineering.
Strong background in patent drafting, prosecution, and strategy.
Experience with USPTO communications and familiarity with diligence matters, such as clearance studies and opinion work.
Ability to support the technical aspects of litigation as needed.
Must be licensed to practice before the USPTO or qualified to sit for the patent bar.
For positions based in the NYC office of Baker Botts L.L.P., the salary range is $225,000 to $310,000 and depends on a candidate’s experience.
