All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regards to, among other things, race, religion, color, national origin, sex, age, sexual orientation, gender identify or expression, status as a protected veteran, or status as a qualified individual with disability._ **_ Primary Location:_** _États-Unis (US) - Illinois - Moline_ **_Function:_** _Legal_ **_Title:_** _Attorney - 89139_ **_Onsite/Remote:_** _Remote Position_ ## ** Your Responsibilities** As an **_Attorney_** __ for Litigation and Product Liability within the Global Law Services Group at John Deere located in Moline you will: * Provide primary legal support in regard the defense of toxic tort litigation * Assist senior attorneys in providing eDiscovery support and representing the Construction & Forestry and John Deere Power Systems divisions on product liability related counseling, claims and lawsuits * Provide research, legal counsel, recommendations, and alternatives for the more complex legal questions and issues in providing eDiscovery support and support of defending the company in claims and lawsuits * Assist senior attorneys and staff in analysis of issues to identify legal problems * Review legal documents for compliance with applicable laws * Stay current on emerging trends in the law through continuing legal education, reading, professional conferences, and participating in professional associations ** Visa sponsorship is NOT available for this position.** ## ** What Skills You Need** * Experience in the overall corporate legal environment * Experience in the general practice of law in a private law firm or corporate law department ## ** What Makes You Stand Out** * Specialized skills, knowledge and abilities needed to perform the essential functions of the job * Experience in handling outside attorneys and case management * Knowledge of risk management within areas of specialization and responsibility * Understands legal issues affecting area of responsibility, able to identify issues associated with assigned tasks, and able to spot ethical issues in practice * Ability to perform legal research using the internet plus various on-line tools * Skill in interpersonal communications, negotiation, and conflict resolution * Effective writing skills, including grammatical usage, persuasive copy and style ## ** Education** Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following: * Juris doctor (JD) degree and admission or eligibility to be admitted to practice law in Illinois and/or required jurisdiction ** What You'll Get** At John Deere, you are empowered to create a career that will take you to where you want to go while working in an inclusive team environment.
