As <b>Associate Corporate Counsel, Product &amp; Technology</b> you will support and guide internal clients across the organization in a highly collaborative, cross-functional manner. You will have the opportunity to interact with many areas of the business, work independently, and grow your role and impact as CarGurus pursues new and exciting new initiatives. In this role, you will be encouraged to exercise excellent business judgment to seek legal solutions, while managing risks and employing creative problem-solving skills. This is a phenomenal opportunity to join a highly regarded legal team and work on groundbreaking issues in a fast-paced environment!</p> <h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b> What you'll do</b></h2> <ul> <li>Advise Engineering and Product teams on key aspects of their business.</li> <li>Support product development by reviewing new and existing products for issues related to intellectual property, open source, consumer protection, data privacy, marketing, and other legal and regulatory issues.</li> <li>Review, draft and negotiate technology agreements and other commercial agreements, including technology partner agreements and product-related consulting, vendor, and development agreements.</li> <li>Coordinate advice with other members of the Legal team, outside counsel, and cross-functional partners.</li> <li>Keep current on relevant industry standards, laws, and regulations.</li> <li>Learn our business and industry, and participate in critical business initiatives.</li> </ul> <h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>What you'll bring</b></h2> <ul> <li>2+ years of major law firm or in-house legal experience in a relevant practice area.</li> <li>JD from an accredited law school and admission to practice in Massachusetts or other U.S. state.</li> <li>Willingness to master new and unfamiliar areas of practice.</li> <li>Ability to balance legal risk and strategic objectives.</li> <li>Strong drafting abilities and written/verbal communication skills.</li> <li>Confidence to interact and communicate effectively with individuals from multiple departments and fields at all levels of the organization.</li> </ul> <p></p> <div> <p><b><br> Working at CarGurus</b> <br> We reward our Gurus' curiosity and passion with best-in-class benefits and compensation, including equity for all employees, both when they start and as they continue to grow with us.
