<div id="jobDescriptionText" class="jobsearch-jobDescriptionText jobsearch-JobComponent-description css-1x2lix0 eu4oa1w0"><div> Reporting to the Senior Director of IP, as an IP Counsel, you will join Red Bull's Brand Enforcement team and will handle a variety of matters relating to brand enforcement and IP licensing throughout the Americas region. This cross-functional role is responsible for trademark oppositions and cancelations, IP litigation, counterfeit and gray market enforcement, analyzing trademark watch notices, and working with business partners to prepare and negotiate IP licenses, releases, and other agreements. <br> <br> <b>RESPONSIBILITIES</b> <br> <br> <b>Areas that play to your strengths</b> <br> <br> All the responsibilities we'll trust you with: <br> <ul> <li> <b> Brand Enforcement</b><br> <br> You will lead trademark opposition, cancellation, and litigation matters across the Americas region<br> <br> Research incidences of infringement and recommend enforcement strategies<br> <br> Work with outside counsel in directing enforcement actions<br> <br> Develop overarching brand enforcement strategies in various jurisdictions<br> <br> Lead enforcement actions from the initial C&amp;D letter stage to negotiating and drafting of settlement agreements<br> <br> Negotiate and draft settlement agreements with third-parties<br> <br> Train US Customs Officers on counterfeits and gray market goods</li> <li> <b> IP Licensing, Agreements, and Advice</b><br> <br> Deliver clear and IP advice and legal support to other Red Bull Departments<br> <br> Flag potential IP risks; assist business in risk mitigation<br> <br> Prepare IP licenses and releases<br> <br> Negotiate IP provisions in various other agreements</li> </ul> <br> <b> EXPERIENCE</b> <br> <br> <b>Your areas of knowledge and expertise</b> <br> <br> that matter most for this role: <br> <ul> <li> 3-6 years of IP law experience with a strong background in US trademark law and enforcement</li> <li> IP law firm experience or in-house experience with large trademark portfolio and brand enforcement disputes</li> <li> Excellent investigation and research skills/experience</li> <li> Excellent communication, interpersonal and writing skills</li> <li> The successful candidate must be able to work independently and efficiently under time pressure and deadlines, be highly organized, detail-oriented, have strong project management skills and be professional, proactive and enthusiastic</li> <li> Experience in drafting trademark-related agreements such as co-existence, settlement agreements and licenses</li> <li> Trademark litigation experience</li> <li> Knowledge of copyright and other IP areas</li> <li> IP experience in South/Central America</li> <li> Experience in supervising paralegals</li> <li> Fluent in Spanish or Portuguese a plus</li> </ul> <ul> <li> Permanent</li> <li> Benefits eligible</li> </ul> <br> <b> WHERE YOU'LL BE BASED</b> <br> <br> <b>Santa MonicaCalifornia, United States</b> <br> <br> United StatesRed Bull North America <br> <br> <b>JOIN THE TEAM</b> </div></div>
