If you are ready to apply your investigations acumen, legal leadership, communication, and relationship-building experience to a challenging and rewarding practice area, this is the opportunity you’ve been looking for.</p> <p></p> <p> The <b>Lead Counsel, Director of Investigations </b>leads a dynamic and diverse team of investigation professionals responsible to design, manage, and implement a world-class internal investigations program at Raytheon. The successful candidate will demonstrate deep investigations expertise, experience leading and fostering expertise and excellence across a team of direct and indirect attorney and non-attorney investigators, and inherently understands the need to communicate proactively and effectively with business and corporate management about the planning, status, and resolution of internal investigations. The successful candidate will also be a relationship builder that drives a high performing team known for conducting thorough, effective, and efficient internal investigations and who strives to continuously improve performance.</p> <p></p> <p> The position involves interaction with all levels of the organization, including regularly with senior executives throughout RTX and Raytheon. Additionally, the position requires ongoing and proactive communication to internal controls owners and related stakeholders inside and outside the legal and compliance function. The role will also manage investigations across business operations and functions throughout the United States, the Middle East and North Africa, United Kingdom, Europe, Japan, Australia, and Southeast Asia, travelling periodically in domestic and international locations to carry out Raytheon’s internal investigations program.</p> <p></p> <p><b> Responsibilities to Anticipate: </b></p> <ul> <li><p>Oversee the investigation function at the Raytheon business unit (e.g., fraud, waste, abuse, quality and supply chain matters, expense reporting, labor mischarging) and implement industry leading investigations best-practices, resources, and processes and provide resources and guidance to relevant Raytheon personnel on relevant procedures</p></li> <li><p> Lead and grow a team of highly capable and effective internal investigators who thoroughly and expeditiously investigate potential misconduct, coordinate with relevant internal stakeholders to identify, and remediate the root cause of wrong-doing and hold responsible parties to account</p></li> <li><p> Direct independent internal investigations of complex and significant issues and oversee Raytheon’s responses to government subpoenas and investigations; conduct analysis regarding potential disclosures under the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Mandatory Disclosure rule, or related disclosure regimes, and facilitate execution of any disclosure</p></li> <li><p> Proactively communicate investigation plans, status of ongoing investigations, and findings and results of investigations to RTX and Raytheon senior executive leadership; collaborate with and empower key internal RTX and Raytheon stakeholders to deal with the interim and final results of internal investigations, particularly leadership in adjacent Ethics and Compliance roles and those within relevant functions and business areas</p></li> <li><p> Positively and effectively collaborate with Global Ethics and Compliance colleagues in areas of shared responsibility including using outcome-focused metrics to track and measure trends to improve Raytheon’s ethics and compliance programs over time</p></li> <li><p> Measure, track, and report key performance and risk indicators regarding internal investigations; reward and promote investigators who deliver excellence and hold accountable those who are not performing at the level expected</p></li> <li><p> Plan for and execute communications protocols with local, state, and federal law enforcement while proactively communicating those plans and the results of such communications to senior executive leadership in RTX and Raytheon</p></li> </ul> <p></p> <p><b> Basic Qualifications:</b></p> <ul> <li><p> A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 14 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years experience</p></li> <li><p> A Juris Doctorate is required</p></li> <li><p> The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government issued security clearance is required</p></li> <li><p> U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance</p></li> <li><p> Currently admitted and in good standing with at least one state bar, and eligibility to represent Raytheon as an in-house legal counsel</p></li> <li><p> Prior organizational leadership experience and success</p></li> <li><p> Experience with Corporate or U.S. Government investigations or ethics investigations involving fraud, waste, or abuse</p></li> <li><p> Experience leading investigation teams</p></li> </ul> <p></p> <p><b> Preferred Qualifications: </b></p> <ul> <li><p>Aerospace/defense industry experience</p></li> <li><p> Department of Justice, Assistant U.S. Attorney, or enforcement agency experience</p></li> <li><p> Compassion and empathy, a collaborator who works well with others</p></li> <li><p> Perseverance and tenacity, capable of constructively withstanding intense internal business pressure</p></li> <li><p> Excellent judgement that conveys reason and prudence in oral and written communications.</p></li> <li><p> Advanced knowledge of the ethics and compliance profession, theories and systems of effective internal control, and professional compliance and investigations standards</p></li> </ul> <p></p> <p><b> What We Offer: </b></p> <p>Whether you’re just starting out on your career journey or are an experienced professional, we offer a robust total rewards package that goes above and beyond with compensation; healthcare, wellness, retirement and work/life benefits; career development and recognition programs. However, the successful candidate will be required to work from one of the 50 U.S. states (excluding U.S. Territories).</p> <p></p> The salary range for this role is 171,000 USD - 343,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. <p></p> Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
