Established in 1989, Jones Day’s Brussels Office has grown to become one of the largest U.S. law firms in Belgium, with more than 60 qualified lawyers serving clients on a wide range of corporate, commercial, litigation, arbitration, labor, banking, finance, regulatory, international trade and competition law issues. The Brussels Office is seeking an associate to join its Cybersecurity, Privacy & Data Protection team. The team’s practice focuses on all aspects of cybersecurity and data protection law including AI. We work in close cooperation with our life science, corporate, labor and litigation teams. Qualifications and Experience • 4 years experience in the cybersecurity and data protection department of a law firm. • Qualified to practice EU law. • Master’s degree with excellent academic credentials at an EU university, including an LL.M. in the U.S. or UK. Languages Native Dutch or French with excellent command of English and Spanish is a plus. Additional Qualities/Skills • Strong interest in cybersecurity, data protection and AI. • Solution-oriented team player, with strong organizational, writing, and oral communication skills. Primary Responsibilities The candidate will have a broad range of cross-border cybersecurity and data protection work with an emphasis on compliance, data breach response, international data transfers, transactional M&A and the recent EU digital regulations.
