The Houston office of Cozen O’Connor is seeking an experienced paralegal to support the attorneys in the Labor & Employment Department. The candidate must be well organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Must be a skilled communicator and possess excellent interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and computer/technical skills required. Ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high intensity environment and is willing to work flexible hours and overtime as needed. The ideal candidate has 3 years of labor & employment experience which will include a litigation/trial background. Primary Responsibilities: Document management—including but not limited to, review of documents for responsiveness, bates labeling, organization of documents and compiling information for discovery responses/pleadings/motions, depositions and trial preparation Draft discovery requests and responses Witness interviews Draft Rule 26 disclosures Create damage models for wage/hour cases Electronic filing in state and federal courts Facilitate document production (hard copy and electronic formats) Management of litigation databases and support of electronic discovery processes Review documents for privilege and compile privilege logs Prepare, serve and follow up on subpoenas Assist at trial, including tracking exhibits and coordination of courtroom equipment to present electronic evidence and exhibits Strong working knowledge of E-discovery, including the technical aspects of collecting, reviewing, and producing electronically stored information (state and federal court). Proficiency in Relativity, LiveNote, Case/Time Map, Summation, Adobe Acrobat, and Trial Director preferred. A bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate required.
