<p>Conducts academic advising, serves as student ombudsman, and facilitates academic counseling workshops for students in the Law Center.</p>
<ul>
<li> Counsels Law Center students regarding academic and personal concerns' conducts academic advising and orientation sessions for law students. </li>
<li>Develops and presents academic counseling workshops and programs' works with Law Center registrar. </li>
<li>Assists the Admissions Committee in development of programs and advisement for at-risk students admitted to the Law Center. </li>
<li>Serves as the students' ombudsman during decisions of suspension and readmission. </li>
<li>Assists the Associate Deans for Academic Affairs and Student Services in dealing with students requiring special assistance. </li>
<li>Works with J.D. and LL.M. students on academic support and bar passage. </li>
<li>Performs other job-related duties as assigned.</li>

<p><br> Doctoral and 3 years experience</p>
<p> Requires application of advanced principles, techniques and theory in a professional discipline or a thorough general<br> business management knowledge. J.D. required. Requires a minimum of three (3) years of direct job-related experience.</p>

<p><br> <b> Additional Job Posting Information:</b><br> The position works exclusively with law students to provide guidance on course selection as it relates to anticipated<br> practice areas of law and opportunities upon graduation; counsels students on managing law school in relation to life<br> demands; assists with professional development; assists with advising students before and during preparation for the<br> bar licensing exam; and oversees many other training and academic support measures offered by the Office of Student<br> Affairs.</p>
<p> Given that this position is student-facing with a focus on professional and academic development and support, prior<br> experience gained in a law firm, JD preferred position, or other legal position doing any of the following activities will be<br> considered as job-related experience:</p>
<ul>
<li>Training, assisting, advising, supervising and mentoring junior attorneys;</li>
<li>Preparing, hosting and/or delivering law student and/or junior attorney trainings and presentations;</li>
<li>Conducting outreach to law students and/or junior attorneys;</li>
<li>Delivering or assisting with law student and/or junior attorney mentoring, networking and recruiting events;</li>
<li>Delivering or assisting with retention of law students and/or junior attorneys;</li>
<li>Having passed the bar exam to become a licensed attorney, any advising, counseling or assistant with law students or junior attorneys in their sitting for the bar exam;</li>
<li>Advising law students and/or junior attorneys in any capacity;</li>
<li>Counseling law students and/or junior attorneys during difficult situations;</li>
<li>Counseling and advising non-lawyer clients; and</li>
<li>Assisting with onboarding and orientation of new hires.</li>
