Seyfarth Shaw LLP, an international law firm with more than 850 lawyers worldwide, has an exciting opportunity for a highly qualified International Employment Law Associate for a position located in Seyfarth’s Sydney, Australia office. The candidate must have two to three years of experience counseling multinational companies on the employment aspects of managing their cross-border workforce needs in the Asia Pacific (APAC). The scope of this role spans the APAC region and is not limited to domestic Australia employment work. The candidate’s background must be multi-jurisdictional in nature. The candidate’s experience must comprise a variety of international employment law issues, including labor and employment compliance, the employment aspects of international transactions, strategic and commercial HR initiatives, contracts, policies and procedures, reductions-in-force, outsourcing arrangements, and employment counseling. The candidate also must have top-notch academic credentials, analytical skills and oral and written communication skills, as well as a commercial mindset and a keen ability to identify and resolve complex legal issues. Dual-qualification is not required, but is a plus, especially including qualification in an Asia-Pacific jurisdiction. Experienced overseas candidates willing to relocate to Australia are encouraged to apply.
