The position reports to the Head of Legal.</b></p> <p><b> Duties and Responsibilities:</b></p> <ul> <li><p><b>Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements, including vendor contracts, client agreements, licensing agreements, master services agreements, and partnership agreements</b></p> </li> <li><p><b>Managing multiple and varied projects and deadlines</b></p> </li> <li><p><b>Advising business leaders on contract status, legal risks and business terms of various deals</b></p> </li> <li><p><b>Researching unique legal issues impacting the organization by identifying applicable statutes, judicial decisions, and codes</b></p> </li> <li><p><b>Keeping abreast of legislative changes that may affect the company and its affiliates</b></p> </li> <li><p><b>Working with outside counsel on ongoing arbitration and litigation work and anticipating and mitigating potential legal problems within the company and developing strategies to avoid costly litigation and reduce potential areas of risk</b></p> </li> <li><p><b>Developing solutions to complex legal questions</b></p> </li> <li><p><b>Developing the company's policies on industry-specific issues and regulatory affairs</b></p> </li> <li><p><b>Other assignments on an ad hoc basis</b></p> </li> </ul> <p><b>Qualifications:</b></p> <ul> <li><p><b>Graduation from an accredited law school; current registration in the Utah bar preferred, California or New York also acceptable</b></p> </li> <li><p><b>5+ years experience in the practice of law after admittance to the bar</b></p> </li> <li><p><b>Experience and expertise in one or more particular fields of legal specialization including anti-money laundering, debit card rules and regulations, prepaid card rules and regulations, credit card rules and regulations, consumer protection laws and regulations, and other payment-related fields</b></p> </li> <li><p><b>Knowledge concerning legal issues involving financial entities</b></p> </li> <li><p><b>Ability to embrace change and thrive in a fast-paced environment with conflicting priorities, multiple projects, and deadline pressure.</b></p> </li> <li><p><b>Ability to conduct accurate, high-quality legal research</b></p> </li> <li><p><b>Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing</b></p> </li> <li><p><b>Ability to use good judgment and discretion</b></p> </li> <li><p><b>Ability to maintain confidentiality</b></p> </li> </ul> <p><b>Additional Desirable Qualifications Skills and Knowledge:</b></p> <ul> <li><p><b>Experience with foreign laws and jurisdictions</b></p> </li> <li><p><b>Spanish / Portuguese fluency</b></p> </li> <li><p><b>Business savvy and ability to partner with business teams to facilitate achievement of business objectives</b></p> </li> <li><p><b>Ability to work effectively with and manage business personnel at all levels</b></p> </li> <li><p><b>Collegial style, team player</b></p> </li> </ul> <div> <div> <b>Compensation and Benefits</b> </div> <div> The base pay range for this role is listed below.
