Description
Job Description: Summer Program Our summer program provides law students the opportunity to gain practical experience at a large regional law firm with nationally recognized practices. From hands-on legal work and department lunches to training sessions and after-work activities, your summer experience will mirror that of a new associate. You will interact directly with clients and other attorneys and have the opportunity to observe trials, negotiations, closings, and depositions. Robinson Bradshaw does not assign summer clerks to specific practice groups or departments, which allows you to work with attorneys throughout the firm, while gaining a better understanding of Robinson Bradshaw’s 40-plus practice areas. We also host a series of informal after-work activities that allow us to get to know one another on a personal level. The Robinson Bradshaw Diversity and Opportunity Fellowship furthers the firm’s commitment to recruit and promote talented individuals with diverse backgrounds, perspectives and experiences. Fellows will benefit from hands-on learning and receive scholarship funds to assist with their law school expenses. To learn more, please visit our website. Recruiting Process We welcome you to apply to our Diversity and Opportunity Fellowship. Navigating an ever-changing recruiting process is challenging and one size does not fit all. Many of you are being forced by other firms to make quick decisions on tight deadlines before your second semester exams begin. At Robinson Bradshaw, we hire for the long term and our hiring process is thoughtful and deliberate. Similarly, we want you to take your time to learn about the different options available to you. Although you are welcome to apply now, please know it is important to us to work with you through this process, including on timing. Your academic success is important to us. We want you to focus on your second semester exams, but if you have deadlines and need to hear from us, let us know. This is an important decision, and we want it to be the right decision for both of us. Job Requirements: In addition to providing us a copy of your resume, undergraduate and law school transcripts, and writing sample, we ask that you submit a brief statement (500 words) describing how your background, life experiences, and perspectives would contribute to the firm and our community. Robinson Bradshaw seeks to hire students who show exceptional promise as lawyers based on their academic performance, analytical skills and interpersonal qualities. Applicants must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States. If you have not received your first-year transcript in its entirety, you may still apply and send us your transcript here once you have it.
