We are seeking a Solicitor to join our market leading Band 1 Energy and Infrastructure team based in Sydney. In this role you will work closely with leading partners David Ryan and Peter Davis as well as the broader team of specialists across our national practice. You will undertake a range of work that supports national and international clients, including advising on mergers & acquisitions, project development, joint ventures, policy & regulation and complex commercial contracting in the energy and infrastructure sectors. The team has been involved on many of the largest infrastructure transactions in Australia and is at the forefront of the significant changes occuring in the Australian energy sector including energy transition, renewable energy zones, offshore wind and hydrogen. Our clients include Governments and regulators, infrastructure and superannuation funds, trading houses, leading energy companies and energy project developers. This role offers the opportunity to work with clients on transactions and projects throughout Australia and Asia-Pacific in a dynamic, energetic and fun team environment. You will also have the opportunity to monitor graduates in the team and assist with providing training to juniors within the team and across the firm. To be successful in this role, you will have: demonstrable experience across any of M&A, project development, policy and regulation and complex commercial contracting, preferable (but not essential) within the energy and infrastructure sectors; an excellent academic record coupled with strong legal skills and a practical mindset; a proactive approach and desire to be an integral member of our leading and supportive team; an ability to work to tight timeframes, collaboratively and at times autonomously; excellent communication skills and ability to demonstrate collegiality within a team; a keen interest in the energy and infrastructure sectors with a hunger to learn and develop, and be part of maintaining a market-leading practice.
