The Appellate Paralegal Clerk will assist the Appellate Specialist in providing paralegal support to our busy Supreme Court and Appellate Practice. Cite check briefs and motions drafted by Appellate Practice attorneys for stylistic and substantive accuracy. Prepare PDFs of appellate documents, including voluminous joint appendices. Prepare tables of contents and tables of authorities. Proofread documents drafted by Appellate Practice attorneys. Electronically file briefs in courts and oversee preparation and service of necessary printed copies. Prepare certain routine or procedural motions and documents. Coordinate with Clerkâs Offices as requested by Appellate Practice attorneys. Maintain confidentiality of client information; This position has a billable requirement of 1,650 hours per year. All members of the firm are encouraged to participate in our Global Citizenship program; and Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED SKILLS Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills; Excellent writing and analytical skills; Strong written and verbal communication skills; Strong interest in learning about the U.S. appellate courts and their workings; Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with or without direct supervision and coordinate multiple projects; Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word; EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR EXPERIENCE BS/BA degree preferred Interest in attending law school a strong plus HOURS Core Hours, Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with additional hours as needed.
