Varnum LLP seeks to hire an attorney to join the Tax Practice Team. This position is open to any of our Michigan offices. The successful candidate will have at least seven years of experience in white collar and/or civil and criminal tax controversy matters, with some time spent in the public sector as a trial lawyer and civil and criminal trial and appellate experience in both federal and state courts. Experience with the IRS Office of Chief Counsel, the U.S. Attorney’s Office, and/or the DOJ Tax Division is preferred. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to develop business, which may include a portable book of business with growth potential; the ability to manage files, supervise client contact and lead cases; the ability to simultaneously juggle multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining a high level of responsiveness; exceptional attention to detail; and outstanding customer/client service skills.
