Position Duties: At Polsinelli, we are focused on understanding and meeting clients’ immediate and long-term trademark, copyright and branding needs. Our services include strategic advice and guidance on trademark and copyright clearance, protection and enforcement, advertising and branding creation and analysis, Internet and domain name issues, and trade dress protection and enforcement, among others. We also advise clients regularly on licensing or IP asset acquisition or divestiture matters. The essential duties of the position include: State and federal trademark registration Worldwide trademark portfolio management Opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board Trademark clearance and risk analysis Copyright registration Copyright clearance Trademark and copyright enforcement, litigation and defense Establish brand and policing guidelines UDRP proceedings Online enforcement Position Requirements: JD degree from a well ranked law school. 24 months experience as an associate attorney. State of Illinois law license. Demonstrated knowledge or experience in: Managing USPTO Trademark Trial & Appeal Board proceedings and negotiate settlement, coexistence, concurrent use and license agreements with minimal oversight Managing worldwide trademark and copyright portfolios for both emerging and multinational companies with minimal oversight Representation of clients in the alcohol, toy and consumer products fields Worldwide trademark clearance and risk assessment for emerging and multinational companies Trademark, copyright and design patent enforcement, including drafting demand letters, online takedowns, TTAB proceedings, and federal and state litigation DMCA and IP takedowns involving trademarks, copyright, design patents and right of publicity, across all online platforms Federal copyright and false advertising litigation, including legal research, drafting briefs, and attending court hearings Compensation Range: $210,000 – $325,000 Please submit a cover letter, resume and law school transcript.
