Responsibilities and practice The Washington, DC office of Dentons US LLP is seeking an associate with 2-4 years of experience and excellent academic credentials to join our Communications and Technology sector within our Federal Regulatory and Compliance practice. The associate hired for this position will work closely with partners and associates on matters related to telecom, media, wireless, cable, privacy, and data security. Expected responsibilities will include: Handling a broad range of technology, media and telecom matters for high-profile clients who rely on the practice to solve their most complex problems Counseling clients on legal, regulatory and policy matters such as privacy and data security, universal service, competition, and interconnection Performing general research and writing tasks for a variety of clients Supporting the growth and management of client relationships in the technology, media, and telecom spheres This a great opportunity to become part of a sophisticated and growing Communications and Technology practice of a global law firm, and to join with a team of lawyers who are passionate about their work. Pursuant with District of Columbia law, the salary range for this position will be $235,000 - $310,000 based on experience. Based on years of experience, Dentons associates may have a title of Associate, Managing Associate, or Senior Managing Associate. Position requirements Personal skills/attributes Has excellent written and oral communication skills and an ability to effectively communicate research and advice through written work product and direct client engagement Is organized and efficient and can prioritize, delegate and manage complex and detail-oriented assignments Has strong analytical skills, thinks creatively and can offer unique perspectives on complicated issues Embraces teamwork and values collaboration Technical skills 2-4 years of prior experience related to telecom, media, wireless and cable issues is required Prior relevant technology, media, and telecom experience, whether in-house, FCC or law-firm, is preferred Privacy and data security experience and/or any technical education or background is a plus CIPP/US certification is a plus Other requirements Must be admitted and in good standing with the District of Columbia Bar.
