King & Spalding seeks a mid-level lateral associate for its Data Privacy & Security practice in the Atlanta, Northern Virginia, or Washington, DC offices. Qualified candidates will have 3-5 years of law firm or in-house experience in data privacy law and directly advising businesses on compliance with major regulatory schemes such as GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and FERPA. Candidates must currently hold IAPP, CISSP, HITRUST, or CISA Certification or must be willing to become certified. Experience with international businesses and regulations, IT, or cyber security will be viewed favorably but is not required. Successful candidates will also have a strong academic record, interest in direct contact with clients, an understanding of business issues and comfort with real-world application of laws, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment. While this position will focus on data privacy issues, applicants should be willing to support all aspects of King & Spalding’s wide-ranging Data Privacy & Security practice as needed.
