Job Description Seyfarth Shaw’s Boston office seeks a Real Estate Associate with 4 - 7 years of significant commercial real estate experience. The ideal candidate will have experience with retail and office leasing as well as real estate acquisitions. Candidates should have experience with negotiating leases, subleases, and purchase and sale agreements. Excellent academic credentials, analytical skills and verbal and written communication skills required. Summary of Primary Responsibilities Leases for retail locations, offices, warehouses and distribution centers (new locations, relocations and renegotiations at end of lease term) including related diligence review Amendments to leases including expansions and reductions Subleases and assignments of leases to third parties Estoppel certificates and non-disturbance agreements with lenders and owners Termination of lease agreements Purchase and sales agreements Evaluate use restrictions affecting retail premises and negotiating with other retailers to obtain waivers of use exclusives Provide legal counsel and guidance to management regarding landlord/tenant/subtenant notices and disputes Department Overview As one of the five largest real estate practices in the U.S., our team of over 120 attorneys has helped clients close some of the largest, most notable transactions over the last several years, and is recognized for bringing creative structures to highly complex, sophisticated commercial real estate transactions, helping our clients maximize the value of each deal.
