This will include keeping up to date with pertinent state and federal laws; conducting legal research on complex areas of law involving regulations, legislation, privacy, HIPAA, compliance, and ethics; conducting risk assessments; developing and overseeing training for agency personnel related to compliance; reviewing contracts, business associate agreements, and data use agreements for privacy and compliance issues; assisting with internal compliance reviews and monitoring activities; regulation drafting and promulgation; and providing legal interpretation and guidance to agency personnel on pending legislation.</p> </div> <div> <b>Qualifications / Requirements</b> </div> <div> <p>REQUIREMENTS: Three years of experience as an attorney practicing law and providing legal services such as preparing and trying cases, advising clients, and/or interpreting laws or administrative policies.<br> <br> LEGAL REQUIREMENTS: In accordance with Section 7-101, Nebraska Revised, Reissued Statutes of l943, incumbents<b> </b>in this class must be admitted to the Nebraska Bar.</p> </div> <div> <b>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</b> </div> <div> <p>Ability to: interpret and apply statutes, case law, decisions of court/administrative hearings, and administrative rules and policies on a variety of legal issues; effectively communicate and interact with legal associates, other government employees, and the public; conduct legal research; formulate legal opinions and recommendations based on legal research; identify critical elements of legal questions or issues; and use a computer for word processing and research.</p> </div> </div> </div> <p></p> <br> <p></p> <div> <div> <div> <div> We offer a comprehensive package of pay, benefits, paid time off, retirement and professional development opportunities to help you get the most out of your career and life.
