The group’s primary responsibilities include: providing guidance to business and HR leaders, ensuring the Company’s compliance with labor and employment laws, developing the Company’s employment policies and practices, negotiating collective bargaining agreements, conducting investigations, overseeing the Company’s alternative dispute resolution program, and administering the Company’s annual employee survey. Our 10–12-week program as an intern at Comcast will help you cultivate meaningful relationships, develop professional skills, gain insight to the day-to-day operations of a top media and technology company, and receive mentorship opportunities to expand your professional network. You will gain invaluable knowledge of our industry, be part of our diverse and welcoming culture and receive exposure to other areas of the business, all while working on real life business projects and functions. <p><b> Job Description</b></p> <p><b> Core Responsibilities</b></p> <ul> <li> Developing employment policies</li> <li> Researching and drafting memoranda on labor and employment issues</li> <li> Conducting employee investigations</li> <li> Assisting with the preparation of responses to EEOC charges</li> <li> Communicating guidance on employee relations issues to business and HR leaders throughout the organization</li> <li> Perform other related duties as assigned</li> <li> Regular, Consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.</li> <li> Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.</li> </ul> <p></p> <p><b> Preferred Qualifications</b></p> <ul> <li> Students should be currently enrolled in a 3-year JD program at an accredited law school in the United States</li> <li> Completed first year of JD program</li> <li> Authorization to work in the United States of America</li> <li> 3.25 GPA or Top 1/3 of class</li> <li> Interest in Labor and Employment Law and/or Human Resources</li> <li> Taken or planning to take a labor law or employment law class</li> <li> Strong, research, written, and oral communication skills</li> <li> Ability to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment</li> <li> Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced environment</li> <li> Willingness to learn and utilize emerging technologies</li> <li> Strong interest in the telecommunications, cable and media industries</li> <li> Effective communication and interpersonal skills (both written and verbal)</li> <li> Authorized to work in the United States of America</li> </ul> <p></p> <p><b> Preferred Major(s) </b></p> <ul> <li>Any</li> </ul> <p></p> <p> Qualified candidate will be paid $45 hourly </p> <p></p> <p>Comcast is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace.
