We serve members in different states and various industries. Employment Law Staff Attorneys advise on multiple issues for employment law compliance, risk assessment, administrative representation, and drafting employment policies and agreements.</p> <br> <p></p> <p> Department: Legal Services</p> <p> Location: This position is hybrid; remote work and periodically in-office, as needed in Loveland, CO</p> <p> Type: Full-time / Exempt</p> <p> Reports to: Director of Colorado Membership, Colorado Regional Offices</p> <br> <p></p> <p><b> Essential Functions</b></p> <br> <p></p> <ul> <li> Advise and counsel employers regarding complex state and federal employment law issues. Recognize and address potential risks with situations including performance documentation, terminations, layoffs, employment agreements, waivers, and release agreements, non-compete agreements, confidentiality agreements, etc.</li> <li> Ability to manage legal and business priorities and help build consensus among multiple stakeholders (e.g., Human Resources professionals and management teams).</li> <li> Evaluate and analyze Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) claims and represent employers in administrative proceedings by drafting position statements and/or settling claims through mediation.</li> <li> Represent employers in administrative proceedings including unemployment hearings and wage claims.</li> <li> Prepare and deliver in-person and virtual training to organizations on various topics including harassment, discrimination, wage and hour, Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), performance documentation, etc.</li> <li> Review employee handbooks, manuals, policies, and procedures from a legal perspective.</li> <li> Advise organizations concerning employee relations matters, risk management, policies, procedures, and other employment law and Human Resources (HR) issues.</li> <li> Substantial interaction with employers and member companies.</li> </ul> <br> <p></p> <p><b> Requirements</b></p> <br> <p></p> <ul> <li> Juris Doctorate is required.
