<div id="jobDescriptionText" class="jobsearch-JobComponent-description css-16y4thd eu4oa1w0"><div> <div> <p>JOB DESCRIPTION</p> </div> <p> This position is responsible for the management of assigned legal activities in support of the environmental, health, safety and regulatory function for a $23 billion global company with manufacturing, industrial and retail sales operations. This position will also support our Global Supply Chain function responsible for manufacturing and logistics. This position will involve tasks and responsibilities generally performed by lawyers in law firms and corporate legal departments including but not limited to the following:</p> <div> <p><br> RESPONSIBILITIES</p> </div> <p><b> CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:</b></p> <p><i> (1) Environmental, Health, Safety and Regulatory Matters:</i></p> <ul> <li>Supports projects and teams – Supports or leads projects providing legal support and solutions to the Company.</li> <li>Provides legal counsel – Provides focused and practical legal advice relevant to business operations as well as the impact of current or anticipated laws, rules and regulation on existing or anticipated business functions.</li> <li>Substantiates positions - Gathers pertinent facts, information and documents necessary to evaluate potential liability, compliance and other issues related to environmental, health, safety and regulatory matters.</li> <li>Manages risk – Develops and implements business focused advice intended to support commercial operations while managing enforcement, permitting and other related risks.</li> <li>Remediation – Supports remediation services group with legal advice and support.</li> <li>Proactive Guidance – Stays abreast of new laws, rule and regulations and other emerging legal risks; provides proactive advice and counsel to team and business units that may be impacted.</li> <li>Compliance – Assists the development and implementation of policies, procedures and controls to promote compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations.</li> </ul> <p><i>(2) Global Supply Chain and Other Matters:</i></p> <ul> <li>General contracting support – Provide contract guidance in support of the Company’s manufacturing, distribution and warehousing operations.</li> <li>Manages claims and disputes – Provides support to operations personnel in resolving disputes with vendors and other suppliers.</li> <li>Acquires and maintains knowledge of Company systems, tools and processes relevant to retail operations, manufacturing, distribution and warehousing.</li> <li>Manages outside counsel when necessary in an efficient and cost-effective manner.</li> </ul> <div> <p><br> QUALIFICATIONS</p> </div> <p><b> FORMAL EDUCATION:</b></p> <p><i> Required: </i></p> <ul> <li>Juris Doctor</li> <li>License to practice law in Ohio or ability to obtain licensure in Ohio </li> </ul> <p><b>KNOWLEDGE &amp; EXPERIENCE:</b></p> <p><i> Required: </i></p> <ul> <li>0-3 years of experience in a law firm, government agency and/or corporate legal department.</li> <li>Experience advising on a range of issues including but not limited to environmental health, safety and regulatory matters as well exposure or knowledge of general contract support.</li> </ul> <p><i>Preferred:</i> </p> <ul> <li>Previous law firm or corporate legal department experience</li> <li>Excellent academic credentials</li> </ul> <p><b>TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:</b></p> <p><i> Required:</i></p> <ul> <li>Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet, telecommunications, database, presentation, legal research and other software applications</li> </ul> <div> <p><br> EMPLOYER DESCRIPTION</p> </div> <div> Here, we believe there’s not one path to success, we believe in careers that grow with you.
