About the Team:

VIZIO's legal team is seeking an experienced and motivated licensed attorney with experience in app and/or content licensing transactions to join our growing Legal Platform+ team. As Legal Counsel, you will be reporting to VIZIO's Director, Platform Content, Media & Technology Counsel and working closely with other attorneys supporting VIZIO's Platform+ business. You will embark on a fantastic opportunity to join a growing and dynamic team within a fast-paced environment.
</div> What You Will Do:
<ul>
<li>The successful candidate will review, draft and negotiate a variety of agreements, with a particular focus on app and content licensing, and will advise on a variety of deals with content providers, media/entertainment companies, and streaming services.</li>
<li> You will evaluate issues from legal and business perspectives with a practical, business-oriented approach to problem-solving and handle complex business and legal issues in a fast-paced, agile, and evolving technology-driven business environment.</li>
<li> Furthermore, you will support strategic initiatives, including cutting-edge technology and regulatory support. There is potential for expansion of duties and the opportunity to make a significant impact on the continued growth of the legal department as the department ramps up to meet the demands for VIZIO's rapidly expanding Platform+ business.</li>
<li> This is a fantastic opportunity to play a vital role in supporting the company's rapid growth and for someone who enjoys learning new things and collaborating with the business teams.</li>
<li> Like all attorneys at all levels at VIZIO, you must be willing to pitch in wherever necessary to assist the legal team in meeting the company's goals.</li>
<li> You will work closely with the in-house legal team members, outside counsel, and multiple client groups/functional departments at all company levels.</li>
</ul> About You:
<ul>
<li>A passion or curiosity for digital media and technology.</li>
<li> 5-7+ years of transactional experience as an attorney either in-house, at a law firm, or a combination of both.</li>
<li> Possess a Juris Doctorate from a U.S. accredited law school.</li>
<li> Licensed to practice law in the State of California or qualify to register as California in-house counsel. </li>
<li>Direct experience in or exposure to AVOD/SVOD/TVOD licensing deals.</li>
<li> Able to handle multiple matters simultaneously and prioritize effectively.</li>
<li> Solid background and experience with negotiating, drafting, and advising on a variety of agreements.</li>
<li> Self-motivated, extremely well organized with exceptional attention to detail, genuine curiosity, and a can-do positive attitude to contribute to the success of the team.</li>
<li> Ability to work well in a very fast-paced and dynamic environment, as well as in a small team environment, and become a productive and positive member of the legal department.</li>
<li> Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.</li>
