Find your future with us.</p> <p> The Boeing Company is seeking a <b>Senior </b><b>Patent and Trade Secret Strategy Advisor </b>to join our team to support the Boeing Business in <b>Tukwila, WA; Seal Beach, CA; Hazelwood, MO; Arlington, VA; Mesa, AZ; Ridley Park, PA; or North Charleston, SC</b>.</p> <p></p> <p> This position will help manage outside patent counsel, generate and supervise enterprise metrics, and develop strategies for our patent portfolio and trade secrets as part of the Boeing Intellectual Property (BIP) organization.</p> <p></p> <p> The position requires close collaboration and frequent communication across the Boeing enterprise including leaders within our engineering and technology divisions and all Business Units. They will work with the BIP Leadership, the Law Department, Engineering, and Business Unit Leaders to ensure the Boeing Company is capturing, protecting, and enabling our patent portfolio and trade secrets.</p> <p></p> <p><b> To be successful in this role you will need: </b></p> <ul> <li><p>Working experience with Patents and Trade Secret laws, regulations, and practices</p></li> <li><p> Analytical skills, critical thinking, confidence, and cross functional relationship building, strong communication (both verbal and written skills), as well as a self-motivated and persuasive personality with a positive attitude</p></li> <li><p> Experience in multiple areas including strategy development and execution, intellectual property, law, business, engineering</p></li> <li><p> Project Management skills</p></li> </ul> <p></p> <p><b> Position Responsibilities:</b></p> <ul> <li><p> Develop IP strategies for enterprise wide technology roadmaps</p></li> <li><p> Develop cross business unit road mapping</p></li> <li><p> Develop processes for patent and trade secret protection</p></li> <li><p> Analyze data to develop and protect our patent portfolio</p></li> <li><p> Advise stakeholders on appropriate IP processes to support the capture and protection of the company’s patents, proprietary information, and trade secrets</p></li> <li><p> Develop and leading patent training throughout the enterprise</p></li> <li><p> Coordinate patent training for Patent Professionals and standard processes information exchange</p></li> <li><p> Serve as Primary Point of Contact for US Outside Counsel</p></li> <li><p> Collaborate with US and non-US outside patent counsel to discuss changes in legal requirements and actions</p></li> <li><p> Monitor worldwide changes to legal requirements, as they pertain to patents and trade secret, and share with the team</p></li> <li><p> Organize and host bi-annual US Outside Counsel Webinar as needed</p></li> <li><p> Support Boeing Intellectual Property Core and Business Unit teams as the need arises</p></li> <li><p> Collaborate with the Technical Fellowship, functional and business leaders</p></li> <li><p> Represent Boeing Intellectual Property (BIP) in External Technical Affiliations Integration Board</p></li> </ul> <p></p> <p><b> This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.</b></p> <p></p> <p><b> Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):</b></p> <ul> <li><p> Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field</p></li> <li><p> Experience in the development of Intellectual Property (IP) plans, policies, procedures and processes</p></li> <li><p> Experience in administering processes and tools for managing Intellectual Property (IP)</p></li> <li><p> Experience developing and leading business strategy</p></li> <li><p> Experience developing, contributing and/or maintaining processes, policies, and procedures</p></li> <li><p> Experience coordinating activities with multiple groups or organizations</p></li> <li><p> Ability to lead an integrated team through personal influence without direct line authority over team members</p></li> <li><p> Strong execution, communication and collaboration skills</p></li> </ul> <p></p> <p><b> Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): </b></p> <ul> <li><p>Graduate Degree</p></li> <li><p> United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) Registered Patent Agent or Attorney</p></li> </ul> <p></p> <p><b> Typical Education/Experience: </b></p> <p>Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience, 18 years' related work experience, etc.).</p> <p></p> <p><b> Relocation: </b></p> <p>Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.
