Job Description: Sands Anderson has an opening for an Associate Attorney with 2 or more years of legal experience in our growing Schools & Education Team in Richmond, VA. Our School & Education Law Team has an extensive history representing public school divisions across Virginia. Our attorneys have a genuine concern for the well-being of students and educators throughout the Commonwealth. A background in litigation defense work is desired. Responsibilities: Conduct legal research, analysis, and case preparation. Draft legal documents, pleadings, motions, and other related materials. Provide guidance to public school boards in all areas of representation, including special education, student discipline, personnel issues, policy, and procurement, Attend hearings, administrative proceedings and meetings as required. Provide expert legal advice to clients, keeping them informed about case progress. Provide counseling in employment related matters. Job Requirements: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Active license to practice law in Virginia. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a licensed attorney. Excellent research, writing, and communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
