About the role This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious litigation lawyer with between 4-7 years’ post qualification experience to join our busy and growing specialist insurance and litigation team in Melbourne. In this role, you will work mainly within the high profile practice of Partner, Nicole Wearne, and be given the opportunity to catapult your complex trial litigation experience to the next level. Nicole is a Legal500 ’Hall Of Fame’ Australian insurance lawyer. The nature and size of the team will mean that you are heavily involved in all aspects of matters allowing you to make a significant contribution to their outcome. This role will allow you to continue to develop your professional and personal brand. You will work in a friendly and supportive team whilst having regular communication with Partners to continue developing your career in an international law firm. You will foster and generate client relationships and will engage in business development frequently, as well as mentor and develop junior level associates in the wider team. Required skills and experience You must have experience in high value, large and complex multi-party litigation (including managing large discovery tasks), excellent team management skills and ideally have a strong background in coverage, insurance indemnity disputes, complex commercial disputes with exposure to trade finance insurance and insolvency well regarded.You will also have a solid understanding of financial arrangements and ACL and Corporations Acts provisions. This role is based at our Melbourne office, and it is a requirement of entry to this office to be fully vaccinated with a COVID-19 vaccine. If successful, candidates will need to provide evidence to demonstrate compliance with this requirement (or a valid exemption) prior to commencing in the role.
