Read more: careers.bms.com/working-with-us.</p> <p></p> <p> Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS) is seeking an experienced patent attorney to join the innovation law team in Princeton, NJ, The attorney hired for this position will provide business-oriented advice on a broad range of intellectual property matters to support our business development and commercial organizations. They will also work closely with other members of our Law Department to analyze complex factual and legal scenarios and provide timely, practical, and actionable guidance to internal clients. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well across functions and geographies are a must.<br> <br> <b>Key Responsibilities</b></p> <ul> <li><p> Conduct IP due diligence on assets or technologies of interest and provide counseling on IP issues identified during IP diligence.</p></li> <li><p> Draft and negotiate IP provisions in third-party agreements, including research collaborations, partnership agreements, and mergers &amp; acquisitions.</p></li> <li><p> Provide information and answer questions relating to the projected exclusivity of our products and product candidates across all geographies.</p></li> <li><p> Work with internal litigation colleagues and/or external counsel to manage patent litigation and administrative patent proceedings, including Post Grant Review, Inter Prates Review, reexamination and reissue proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, as well as oppositions and other equivalent foreign proceedings.</p></li> <li><p> Monitor, participate and contribute to IP policy developments that can have a significant impact on our industry.</p></li> </ul> <p><b><br> Qualifications &amp; Experience</b></p> <ul> <li><p> Juris Doctor degree and active bar membership in good standing</p></li> <li><p> Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in the biological or chemical sciences.</p></li> <li><p> An advanced degree and/or scientific research experience preferred.</p></li> <li><p> Minimum of eight (8) years of experience practicing patent law, with a strong understanding of patent prosecution, licensing and third-party disputes</p></li> <li><p> Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills</p></li> <li><p> Ability to work well across functions and geographies.</p></li> <li><p> Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.</p></li> <li><p> Ability to drive results.</p></li> <li><p> Highest integrity, excellent judgment and the ability to proactively recognize and effectively assess business risk and communicate legal issues to management across patent, legal and general business functions.</p></li> </ul> <p></p> <p><i> If you come across a role that intrigues you but doesn’t perfectly line up with your resume, we encourage you to apply anyway.
