Absolutely! </div> What you’ll learn &amp; achieve:: <div> <b> This role is hybrid based out of our Austin, TX or Northbrook, IL offices</b> </div> <div></div> <div> <br> As Corporate Counsel, you will be a key member of the Legal department’s Commercial Center of Excellence. Reporting to the Associate General Counsel, you will work closely with a wide range of UL Solutions businesses to provide guidance on contracting and other commercial needs. The Legal team comprising the Commercial Center of Excellence is located principally in Austin, Texas and Northbrook, Illinois, and the Commercial Counsel may be based at either location. This role currently offers flexible work arrangements but is not fully remote. </div> <div></div> <div> <b><br> Job responsibilities:</b> </div> <ul> <li> Negotiate, draft, and review contracts between UL Solutions companies and their customers or suppliers. </li> <li>Lead discussions with UL Solutions business representatives, customers, and/or suppliers regarding legal aspects of transactions.</li> <li> Advise on risk mitigation, both in contract terms and operationally, and help to identify and measure risks associated with service offerings.</li> <li> Participate in initiatives to improve contracting processes across UL Solutions, and help internal stakeholders navigate and understand those processes.</li> <li> Perform other legal duties as directed by Associate General Counsel or other CLO leadership.</li> </ul> <br> <div></div> What makes you a great fit:: <ul> <li>JD degree and a minimum of 3 years relevant experience in a law firm or corporate legal department</li> <li> Experience with contract drafting and negotiation, ideally on both sell- and buy-side</li> <li> Bar admission in good standing</li> <li> Intelligent and quick learner</li> <li> Proactive and pragmatic problem-solver</li> <li> Ability to consider different perspectives, including both legal and business interests in a transaction</li> <li> Strong work ethic and ability to manage and organize requests from many different internal stakeholders</li> <li> Excellent written and oral communication skills</li> <li> Language skills (particularly French, Spanish, and/or Portuguese) not required but a plus, as this team also provides regional legal support to UL Solutions businesses across the Americas. </li> <li>Ability to contribute as a team player and work collaboratively with colleagues and business leaders to fulfill and advance company strategy.</li> <li> UL has COVID-19 protocols and policies in place to ensure the safety of our employees, customers and clients.
