Role Summary: GTT requires a Legal Counsel who will be responsible for all sales contract matters including negotiations, resolving issues, executing agreements and managing contracts related to our operations. Job Scope: Interacts with Sales, Finance, Operations, Customer Service, Service Delivery, and Legal. Duties and Responsibilities: <ul> <li> Negotiate sales contracts in a fast-paced business environment.</li> <li> Serve as adviser and resource for internal stakeholders with specific questions and requests regarding current sales contracts.</li> <li> Work closely with the sales and sourcing teams, business unit stakeholders and the legal team to develop &amp; support the implementation of GTT’s overall contract management strategy</li> <li> Ensure sales compliance with contractual obligations, service level agreements, &amp; other performance requirements.</li> <li> Lead the approval and execution of specific contracts.</li> <li> Support issue escalation and dispute resolution with sales contracts.</li> <li> Draft / amend / advise on and negotiate the full range of commercial agreements for all GTT products.</li> <li> Provide legal advice/drafting that is accurate, understandable to and focused on the issues of the business.</li> <li> Be able to articulate GTT’s risk appetite to all levels of the company including senior management/Executives to ensure compliance with policies and make them aware of unfavourable terms and conditions.</li> <li> Identify, analyze, &amp; mitigate contractual risk</li> <li> Sort and organize complex information for use in decision making.</li> <li> Ensure compliance with corporate policies and business practices</li> <li> Resolve customer billing issues</li> <li> Resolve disputes with suppliers</li> <li> Monitor contract amendments, extensions and renewals and close out as appropriate</li> <li> Maintain accurate sales and vendor/supplier records</li> </ul> Required Experience/Qualifications: <ul> <li> JD degree from an accredited law school</li> <li> Minimum 5 years post qualification experience in contract lifecycle management</li> <li> Hands on experience of sales contract preparation, review and negotiation.</li> <li> Broad knowledge of telecommunications business</li> <li> Proven track record of effectively managing &amp; influencing internal &amp; external stakeholders</li> <li> Experience using cloud-based contract management tools</li> <li> Results-oriented mentality with a focus on efficiency, accuracy and quality</li> </ul> Desirable Experience/Qualifications: <ul> <li> A commercially / business savvy individual who will be able to provide options and solutions rather than simply say no.</li> <li> Must be able to articulate the business drivers behind GTT’s goals.</li> <li> Excellent communications and influencing skills, confident in dealing with all levels of the company (including Executives) in a multi-tasking, multi-cultural environment.</li> <li> Able to work effectively under pressure in a team environment.</li> <li> Team player with a positive can-do attitude.</li> </ul> Core Competencies <ul> <li> Knowledge of Organization: Knowledge of the organization's vision, structure, culture, philosophy, operating principles, values, and code of ethics; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.</li> <li> Matrix Management: Understanding of the importance of being able to leverage external resources when required and ability to build and use effective working relationships within own department and across department, functional, and geographic reporting lines.</li> <li> Commercial Law: Knowledge of domestic and international laws governing commerce; ability to interpret and take action on the aspects of such laws that impact the business.</li> <li> Government Affairs Regulatory Environment: Knowledge of government legislation bodies affecting the organization; ability to use methods and tools in handling governmental legislation and regulatory issues.</li> <li> Intellectual Property Law: Knowledge of domestic and international laws governing intellectual property (IP); ability to interpret and take action on the aspects of IP laws that impact the business.</li> </ul> Universal Competencies <ul> <li> Continuous Improvement: Knowledge of transformation initiatives to drive fundamental changes, enhance responsiveness and efficiency to core business practices. Ability to re-focus processes and systems from integration activity to maximizing a positive customer impact and anticipating future trends.</li> </ul> The salary range for this position is $95,000 - $115,000 depending upon relevant skills and experience.
