Labor & Employment Practice Group Attorney

Greenberg Traurig LLP

Location
Arizona-Phoenix
Description
Greenberg Traurig (GT), a global law firm, has an exciting employment opportunity for a Practice Group Attorney in the Labor & Employment Practice of our Phoenix office. This position is for an attorney who is seeking more flexibility within BigLaw, including a reduced billable hour expectation (as low as 1200 per year) and an increased opportunity to work remotely. The position is not a shareholder track position. Qualified candidates will have strong interpersonal skills, writing and analytical ability, keen attention to detail, and the desire and initiative to take ownership. Significant litigation experience is a plus (even if not employment litigation), including day-to-day responsibility on cases. Our practice includes employment class actions (including trade secret and restrictive covenant cases). This position is a litigation position; it is not a consulting or counseling position. The right person will want trial experience (or have it already) and be willing to take depositions, cover hearings, interview witnesses, handle written discovery, and write persuasive briefs. The right candidate will also have demonstrable substantive knowledge of basic employment concepts under Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, and similar federal and state employment laws. The position offers the candidate the opportunity to assume responsibility but with a reduced case load. The candidate must have strong academic credentials and references and be a member of the Arizona State Bar or willing to quickly become one. Greenberg Traurig is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Individuals seeking employment at Greenberg Traurig are considered without regards to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identification, national origin, age, marital status, ancestry, disability, veteran status, or genetic information, among other protected bases. Exemplifying our commitment to promoting inclusion and equity across our platform, the firm participates in the Mansfield Rule Certification Program (Mansfield). Mansfield, which is facilitated by The Diversity Lab, focuses on equal opportunity, fairness, and inclusivity. The Mansfield requirements are anchored in the consideration of expanded talent pools considered for select positions and open roles within the law firm and the implementation of and access to transparent processes. Utilizing the Mansfield framework, the firm’s progress and outcomes are measured and documented through Mansfield Certification Plus Metrics. In 2023, GT achieved Mansfield 6.0 Certification Plus. We are excited about our ongoing participation in Mansfield given the program’s alignment with the firm’s commitment to opportunities for advancement that are inclusive for everyone. Providing your data during the application process helps us with achieving our goals and with meeting reporting/record-keeping obligations under federal and state law and other legal requirements. Providing your data is entirely voluntary and will not be considered in the hiring process or thereafter. Any information that you do provide will be treated confidentially.
