Job Description Summary DLA Piper is seeking a highly skilled 3rd or 4th year associate to join our Dallas office. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in commercial litigation with demonstrated expertise in legal research, superior writing and analytical skills, and a proven ability to proactively manage a multi matter docket in state and federal courts. The ideal candidate may have experience in complex commercial litigation matters, including SEC investigations, publicly traded companies, M&A and tort litigation. Candidates will work closely with senior attorneys and clients to develop and execute effective litigation strategies. Additionally, candidates will be required to conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and briefs, conduct depositions, and assist with discovery, trial preparation, mediations, and settlement negotiations. Previous state court or federal clerkship experience a plus but not required. Candidates must be licensed in Texas and reside in the Dallas, TX area. Requirements: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with exceptional law school grades. Admission to the Texas State Bar with 3-4 years of litigation experience. Physical Demands, Work Environment, and Other Requirements Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
