Employment Litigation Associate - Senior Level - New York

Davis Wright Tremaine LLP

The New York office of Davis Wright Tremaine LLP seeks to hire an exceptionally talented employment litigation associate with at least 7-8 years of experience to join its vibrant New York and national employment law practice. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise litigating employment-related disputes on behalf of sophisticated private sector employers in state and federal court, at arbitration and before administrative agencies. Strong writing and public speaking skills, excellent interpersonal skills and an unwavering commitment to client service are a must, as is the ability to multitask and successfully manage a portfolio of active cases and matters. We are specifically looking for someone who has defended employment cases (including EEO and wage/hour cases) from start to finish; taken and defended key depositions; managed discovery in cases involving substantial ESI productions; and appeared in court regularly on behalf of employer clients, including to argue discovery and other motions. The attorneys in our NY-based Employment Services practice are physically present in our New York office three or more days per week, and we have that same expectation of the candidate selected for this role. You must be admitted to practice in New York state and federal courts; bonus points if you are also admitted in New Jersey and/or Connecticut. What’s in it for you? Our New York Employment Services team is small and cohesive, and we staff cases very leanly. Talented senior associates can expect to play a principal role in litigation, while working collaboratively with engaged and available partner-level senior attorneys. You’ll also have the opportunity to mentor and train colleagues with less extensive employment litigation experience. You’ll work alongside colleagues who value strategic insight, proactivity, teamwork, confidence and capability. We work with a diverse array of interesting clients across a broad spectrum of private sector industries, we get results for our clients, and we enjoy working together. And at DWT, you’ll be surrounded by colleagues who are deeply committed to your career development. You won’t be lost in the shuffle, and you’ll be well supported as you hone the skills and experience that will enable you to thrive long-term as an employment litigator. To apply, please upload a cover letter addressed to Gelila Adisu (gelilaadisu@dwt.com), Recruiting Assistant, Lawyer Talent Acquisition; resume, writing sample and law school transcript, all in PDF format. Please specify how you heard about this position. All replies confidential.
