Then it’s time to join Western Union as Assistant Counsel for our regulatory team.</p> <p></p> <p><b> Western Union powers your pursuit.</b></p> <p></p> <p> Reporting to the Managing Associate General Counsel, Regulatory, the Assistant Counsel will support responses to regulatory inquiries, examinations, and audits and monitor regulatory changes and the regulatory environment. You will closely support the Global Compliance Program and colleagues in Products and Business Legal.</p> <p><b><br> Role Responsibilities</b></p> <ul> <li><p> Handle regulatory examinations and draft and review responses to regulators.</p></li> <li><p> Advise the company on how new and amended regulations affect policies, procedures, and operations.</p></li> <li><p> Work closely with other cross functional partners to address complex issues and regulatory or law enforcement inquiries.</p></li> <li><p> Provide clear and precise legal advice or guidance regarding applicable law and compliance policies.</p></li> <li><p> Advise on wide range of anti-money laundering, sanctions, anticorruption and bribery, antitrust, ESG, licensing, and consumer protection issues.</p></li> <li><p> Advise the company on agent due diligence and oversight standards.</p></li> <li><p> Respond to questions about how regulatory requirements affect the design and implementation of new and existing products, including money transfer and stored value products (digital wallets and prepaid cards).</p></li> <li><p> Conduct advanced legal research and/or other technical research.</p></li> <li><p> Interact directly with and respond to questions presented by legal and compliance colleagues.</p></li> <li><p> Effectively plan and collaborate with team members on a range of projects to improve internal efficiency and effectiveness of operations.</p></li> </ul> <p></p> <p><b> Role Requirements</b></p> <ul> <li><p> 5+years of experience of related/practical legal experience in law firm or corporate legal department. Experience in Financial Services and/or Payments industries preferred.</p></li> <li><p> Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA-accredited school of law, admitted to at least one U.S. state bar if practicing within the U.S. or country equivalent qualifications for that country.</p></li> <li><p> Demonstrated ability to present legal concepts clearly and effectively.</p></li> <li><p> Excellent communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport, confidence, and trust with stakeholders at all levels.</p></li> </ul> <p></p> <p><b> We make financial services accessible to humans everywhere.
