We are not currently accepting search firm submission for this position The Transportation Industry Group of Reed Smith LLP is seeking to hire a New York-qualified, junior to mid-level associate to join our New York office. The new hire will draft and negotiate maritime and transportation contracts and handle related disputes. The new hire will also work on USCG, MARAD and FMC regulatory matters and shipping finance transactions. The new hire will be in direct contact with clients and attorneys across our global offices on a daily basis. The ideal candidate is a team player and a self-starter, able to quickly take ownership of diverse matters, with outstanding academic credentials, 1-3 years of law firm experience, excellent drafting, research, analytical, communication and negotiation skills. An asset finance background with a shipping focus or interest as a plus. $225,000 - $325,000. This represents the presently-anticipated low and high end of Reed Smith’s pay range for this position. Actual pay may vary based on various factors, including but not limited to location and experience.
