J ones Day is looking for an associate (starting or advanced trainee lawyer) for its internationally oriented labor and employment practice in Amsterdam. Our practice covers (corporate) employment law in the widest sense and is specifically well-regarded for its in-depth pension law expertise. The team handles, among others, collective dismissals, challenging leadership changes, works council matters, collective bargaining negotiations, sensitive fraud / harassment (#MeToo) situations, changing terms and conditions of employment and matters related to corporate / M&A transactions. Furthermore, the team litigates high profile pension matters that result in landmark cases on behalf of employers and pension funds and advises on complex indexation matters. As an associate, you will advise and litigate on behalf of international companies (including private equity) and pension funds. You will be integrated in our global firm and form part of the international labor & employment practice. Jones Day is affiliated with the Law Firm School (LFS) and our associates attend the Jones Day New Lawyer Academy in Washington, D.C., USA. You will be encouraged to contribute to Pro Bono and D&I Initiatives. The team regularly publishes in employment and pension law journals and encourages associates to do the same. Our ideal candidate: • holds a master’s degree in (corporate) employment law or will soon obtain such degree • is passionate about employment law and willing to learn about pension law • is interested in ESG-initiatives and especially the “S” (Human Trafficking etc.) • is willing to take initiative and assumes responsibility • is willing to contribute to the growth of our practice • is a team player • is fluent in both Dutch and English
