Hirschler, a multispecialty mid-sized law firm headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, is seeking to add an experienced trusts and estates associate to our sophisticated and growing practice. Candidates must possess excellent research and writing skills and demonstrate an ability to think critically, communicate effectively, and collaborate with others. The ideal candidate will have substantive experience in any of the following areas: *Preparation of standard estate planning documents (powers of attorney, advance medical directives, wills, revocable trust agreements) *Preparation of Irrevocable Trusts, including Grantor Retained Trusts, Irrevocable Life Insurance Trusts (ILITs), Intentionally Defective Grantor Trusts, Self-Settled Asset Protections Trusts, Spousal Lifetime Access Trusts, Charitable Lead Trusts, Charitable Remainder Trusts, and Special Needs Trusts *Preparation of LLC Operating Agreements, corporate Shareholder Agreements, and Buy-Sell Agreements *Advising clients on income, estate, gift and generation-skipping tax planning strategies, including the creation and implementation of lifetime gifting programs and charitable planning options *Advising clients regarding trust and estate administration matters including, tax elections and postmortem tax planning, representation before local Courts and Commissioners of Accounts, representation before Federal and State taxing authorities, and preparation of estate and gift tax returns and fiduciary income tax returns. This position will allow an associate to engage in all aspects of the estate administration process, work directly with clients, and collaborate with a team on a variety of matters.
