JOB SUMMARY Kutak Rock LLP seeks a detail-oriented paralegal to join its Washington D.C. office. This position will work with lawyers and staff in tax credit finance, commercial lending, public finance and real estate practices. This individual will be primarily responsible for obtaining and organizing due diligence documentation, assisting with closing transactions, and organizing and monitoring post-closing tasks. RESPONSIBILITIES Assist with the due diligence and closing process for tax credit and various financing transactions Prepare and update distribution lists, signature pages, closing checklists, forms, and initial drafts of documents Format to firm standards and compile documents, and exhibits from various sources Coordinate execution and delivery of documents, including organization and preparation of closing transcripts/binders Manage, organize, update and conduct initial reviews of due diligence documentation, including accessing, downloading, uploading and organizing materials from and to various virtual data rooms and document portals, and providing access to attorneys Handle routine correspondence and maintain e-mail and telephone contact with clients, as needed Organize and maintain electronic and paper filings with state and federal agencies Handle accounting responsibilities Meet regularly with supervising attorneys and senior paralegal Assist with other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: Skills and Abilities Ability to organize large quantities of information Ability to work well under the pressures of deadlines and prioritize assignments Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment Ability to work both collaboratively as part of a team, independently or unsupervised Strong attention to detail Excellent spelling, grammar, formatting, and proofreading skills Excellent project management, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills Ability to handle documents and other information with confidentiality and discretion Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an aptitude to interface with attorneys, clients, staff, and firm visitors Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as Sharepoint, Intralinks, and other virtual dataroom and project management applications QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience High school (or equivalent) required; preference given to those with a Bachelor’s degree and/or successful completion of an accredited legal assistant or paralegal program Preference given to those with related work experience in tax, real estate and lending transactions, or law firm/internal corporate law department Experience with project and information management Position Information Status: Non-Exempt Salary Range: $56,000-75,000 commensurate with experience Work Arrangement: Hybrid Benefits Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Dependent Life, Disability, and Accidental Death & Dismemberment insurance.
