Position Summary: We are seeking a Senior Construction Litigation Attorney to join our dynamic Litigation Group. The ideal candidate will have experience with procurement-related issues, contract administration, risk management, dispute avoidance, claim documentation, equitable adjustments, impact and delay claims, default terminations, change order and extra work disputes, requests for equitable adjustments, payment and performance bond claims, mechanics’ liens, prompt payment and conditional payment disputes, construction and design defects, and bid protests. They should also meet the following basic requirements: Undergraduate and JD degrees from accredited academic institutions Current WSBA membership At least five years of experience in litigation with an emphasis on construction-related matters Excellent time and project management skills Self-motivated and able to move matters forward strategically and thoughtfully Attention to detail Strong legal research and writing skills Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Ability to work with multiple partners and effectively manage responsibilities for different cases. Prepare discovery and respond to requests (admissions, disclosures, interrogatories, depositions, orders, etc.). Attend and manage hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and court proceedings. Draft pleadings, motions, and briefs. Effectively communicate with clients and the managing attorney(s) to understand the client’s concerns and provide sound legal advice. Analyze, evaluate, synthesize, and research case law, statutes, regulations, and documents impacting the firm’s clients. Utilize strong written and critical thinking skills that lead to comprehensive and persuasive writing. Communicate clearly and logically (both orally and in writing) with clients, courts, and counsel. Organize and manage documents from multiple sources during multidistrict and other complex litigation. Ability to handle complex problems utilizing initiative, creativity, and sound professional judgment. Ability to maintain attention to detail and produce high-quality work.. Compensation range: $175,000 – $250,000 annually, depending upon years of practice and amount of portable business.
