The State Tax Group of Reed Smith LLP is currently seeking a highly motivated mid-to-senior level Associate with 3+ years of experience in state and local taxation (law firm, government, or accounting firm experience preferred) to join the firm’s San Francisco office. With the largest number of dedicated state tax lawyers in any law firm, Reed Smith’s State Tax team can serve clients across all taxes and all taxing jurisdictions. Our lawyers’ varied backgrounds generate diverse perspectives that allow them to understand more about our clients and their needs. This position will work directly with a collaborative and highly experienced team whose practice covers the full spectrum of state and local taxes. Job Requirements: • Must be a current member of the California bar. • Must have outstanding academic credentials. • Must have at least three years of law firm, government, or “Big Four” accounting firm experience in state tax planning, or tax controversy work. • Must have strong writing, research, analytical and verbal communication skills. $225,000 - $365,000. This represents the presently anticipated low and high end of Reed Smith’s pay range for this position.
