Bring your passion, potential and talents to a career that matters. <br>Department Overview The Senior Privacy Counsel – Video Solutions serves as a key leader in developing and maturing the Global Data Protection - Products Compliance Program within Motorola Solutions, Inc. (“MSI”), with a focus on our fixed and mobile video solutions. Motorola Solutions’ video portfolio includes a variety of fixed and mobile video solutions such as body-worn cameras, license plate recognition, video management solutions, security systems unified with access control and more. Our solutions use advanced video analytics and artificial intelligence and are offered through a number of leading brands. While the Senior Privacy Counsel will report to the Sr. Director, Global Data Protection – Products, he/she will also work closely and collaboratively with the internal product, engineering, legal, security and business teams. <br>Job Description <br> <br> <b>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</b> <br> Conduct privacy assessments of new and existing products and services to advise on the privacy and security compliance implications and develop ways to mitigate compliance risks <br>Provide guidance to product teams with respect to data flow mapping and compilation of data and asset inventories <br>Legal analysis and guidance in connection with privacy assessments and records of processing activities <br>Provide proactive and creative legal guidance on all privacy and data protection compliance risks in connection with the launch of new and innovative products and services <br>Serve as data protection subject matter expert in connection with domestic and international sales; providing guidance to teams responding to requests for proposals or other customer. Draft and/or review contract language relating to privacy and security clauses. <br>Maintain expertise in global data privacy laws and advise on the impact to MSI as well as implications with respect to compliance activities <br>Maintain understanding and expertise with respect to information security standards and regulations and advise on the associated legal and compliance implications. <br>Develop and provide training to product and engineering teams regarding privacy, security and other compliance best practices and obligations <br>In conjunction with security and product teams develop and assist in implementing internal privacy and security controls to ensure MSI’s products and services are supporting our own as well as our customers’ compliance obligations with applicable laws, standards and policies <br>Support security and other teams in responding to any data security incident responses as necessary <br>Engage with privacy regulators as may be required <br>Provide reports as directed or requested to keep senior management, DPO and other groups informed of the operation and progress of compliance efforts. <br> <br> <b>SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:</b> <br> CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPT and/or CIPM certifications strongly preferred <br>General understanding of cloud industry technologies, IaaS, PaaS and SaaS. <br>Experience with OneTrust Privacy Management Platform <br>Working knowledge of global data and privacy laws and standards. Working knowledge of NIST 800-53, ISO 27001, et seq, ISO 27701, SOC2 trust criteria and NIST Privacy Framework. <br>Practical yet creative problem-solving approach that emphasizes addressing business needs while protecting company’s interests <br> <br> Candidate may reside anywhere in the US <br> <br> #LI-RH1 #LI-REMOTE <br>Basic Requirements <br>Juris Doctorate degree from a top rated ABA accredited law school <br>Active member of a State Bar Association with authorization to practice within the state in which the employee works <br>8+ years of work experience as an attorney for private law firm and/or as in-house counsel; direct experience advising global product and engineering teams on integrating privacy and security into new and existing products and services <br>Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required.
