The Legal Counsel Regulatory provides solutions-oriented legal advice and support to assigned business functions on a broad array of matters within a highly regulated environment. The Legal Counsel demonstrates a high degree of autonomy dealing with issues representing moderate risks and complexity.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
</div>
<ul>
<li> Advises internal clients on legal matters in a way that advances the company's strategy while addressing legal risks and protecting the company's integrity and reputation.</li>
<li> Guardian of best corporate practices.</li>
<li> Acts as a specialist on matters within the area of accountability, staying abreast of evolving regulations and the enforcement landscape.</li>
<li> Serves as a member of various cross-functional teams.</li>
<li> Sees a bigger picture and puts legal risk and solutions in context.</li>
<li> Drives and contributes to various department and cross-functional governance and process improvement projects.</li>
<li> Participates in various other Legal & Compliance Department projects and initiatives.</li>

Knowledge and Skills:
</div>
<ul>
<li> Depth of knowledge of the laws, regulations and industry standards applicable to the area of responsibility.</li>
<li> Significant understanding of business drivers.</li>
<li> Strong analytical and complex problem-solving skills, sound judgment.</li>
<li> Ability to constructively counsel and influence clients in making the right decisions, articulating legal concepts simply and clearly.</li>
<li> Ability to work cross-functionally and independently</li>
<li> Capacity to simultaneously handle a variety of complex legal matters with minimal guidance.</li>
<li> Ability to take ownership of issues.</li>
<li> Ability to create buy-in and trust.</li>

Education and Experience:
</div>
<ul>
<li> JD or LLM</li>
<li> Typically requires 6 years of experience advising on legal matters in a life sciences space, whether in-house or in a law firm, or the equivalent combination of education and experience</li>
