<div id="jobDescriptionText" class="jobsearch-jobDescriptionText"><div> <p>GEICO has an exciting opportunity for a <b>PIP Attorney</b> in our <b>Coral Gables, FL </b>office, where you will be challenged with the important mission of defending GEICO and our customers. This may include in courts of limited or unlimited jurisdiction against Personal Injury Protection (PIP) lawsuits.</p> <p></p> <p> You will be responsible for preparing and handling pleadings, motions, and discovery to include depositions before trial and examinations under oath, as well as render legal opinions on liability, damages, and value to support our Claims Department. Whether you’re researching laws, preparing legal briefs or defending GEICO in trial, arbitration, or mediation, you will play an important and critical role in the success of our Claims process.</p> <p></p> <p><b> Qualifications &amp; Skills:</b></p> <ul> <li><p> Some insurance defense or personal injury litigation experience preferred</p></li> <li><p> Juris Doctorate required</p></li> <li><p> Currently licensed in good standing to practice law in applicable jurisdictions, and meet and maintain licensing requirements, including mandatory Continuing Legal Education (CLE) requirements where applicable</p></li> <li><p> Must be admitted/licensed to practice in FL</p></li> <li><p> Flexibility to travel as required to attend trials, hearings, depositions, management meetings and conferences</p></li> <li><p> Skilled in learning and applying large amounts of technical and procedural information</p></li> <li><p> Ability to follow complex instructions, resolve conflicts or facilitate conflict resolution</p></li> <li><p> Excellent writing and verbal communication skills</p></li> </ul> <p></p> <p><b> Salary Information:</b></p> <p> Salary commensurate with experience.</p> <p></p> <p><b> Benefits:</b></p> <p> At GEICO, we make sure you have the support and resources to leverage and develop your skills, secure your financial future, and take care of your health and well-being.
