Armstrong Teasdale LLP is seeking a Business Acceptance Counsel to join its team. The Business Acceptance Counsel analyzes potential conflicts of interest and collaborates with key stakeholders to manage and mitigate risk. Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Reviews potential new clients and matters, as well as lateral hires, to identify conflicts of interest under applicable rules Works with attorneys and General Counsel’s Office to coordinate conflicts analysis. Prepares waiver letters and assists with implementation of ethical screens as required. Serves as a resource for conflicts resolution by communicating with attorneys and staff, summarizing issues, and actively maintaining the conflicts database Collaborates with the firm’s Pricing, Billing, and Technology teams to maintain matters for existing firm clients Monitors the quality of work output and delivery Proactively explores opportunities for client intake process innovation and efficiency Competencies: Decision Making – Identifies issues and provides suggestions to day-to-day problems; prioritizes and effectively completes daily tasks Communication – Communicates in a clear, concise and organized manner; prevents miscommunication by clarifying difficult concepts and ensures understanding by others; knows the appropriate amount of information to share with various parties; ensures regular and consistent information is shared; understands the appropriate level of confidentiality Leadership – Gives positive and constructive feedback to peers; trains new employees; finds solutions to a problem; works autonomously; and is motivated to anticipate future business needs Continuous Learning – Identifies self-training needs and opportunities; positively accepts changes Teamwork – Actively participates in the team and can provide feedback and solutions; listens and responds constructively to others’ concerns Alignment to Values – Consistently demonstrates the Firm’s values and offers constructive feedback to team members regarding the values; strives to learn more and participate in diversity and inclusion efforts; demonstrates respect by understanding and providing support Required Education: Juris Doctorate Preferred Education: N/A Required Experience: At least two years of experience in a law firm or corporate legal environment.
