Description The Chicago office of Baker McKenzie seeks an associate attorney with two (2) to five (5) years’ experience for the Litigation & Government Enforcement Practice Group, supporting its commercial litigation and government enforcement practices. Knowledge of complex business disputes, class action defense and mass torts is preferred. Experience advising companies on compliance matters, including anticorruption and trade-related matters, as well as a variety of other regulatory and enforcement matters is also important. The ideal candidate may also have experience conducting cross-border investigations regarding a broad set of compliance matters, including experience conducting and managing email and document reviews, preparing for and conducting interviews, and synthesizing findings and legal conclusions for delivery to clients and regulators. The ideal candidate will have deposition and courtroom experience. Strong academic credentials and excellent communication, analytical, and writing skills are required along with experience in case management, drafting pleadings and discovery, arguing motions, and taking and defending depositions. Prior client-facing experience and ability to interface with and manage client relationships with partners is preferred. Large law firm experience in a litigation practice is strongly preferred, and former clerkship with a federal district judge or circuit court is also favorable. The US base compensation for this position is expected to be $260,000-365,000 annually if located in an office in Chicago. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
