Experience at HeplerBroom will include: Assist partners in the management of a thriving insurance, personal injury, premises, insurance broker E&O, municipal, and coverage defense practice. Actively assist in the defense of numerous case files from case inception through trial. Handle depositions of parties, witnesses, treating physicians, and experts. Draft and argue routine and substantive motions. Attend court hearings in several different counties and courthouses and by Zoom. Prepare status and trial strategy reports for clients. Conduct examinations under oath, along with ancillary legal research and author coverage opinions to both claims adjusting personnel and in-house counsel. Assist in the drafting and prosecution of declaratory judgment actions on questions of insurance coverage, as well as the defense of contractual and extracontractual coverage actions. Handle all aspects of discovery, including drafting and answering interrogatories, production requests, and requests to admit. Ideal Candidate will have: Good standing with the Illinois bar; Indiana license also preferred but not required Experience in both Illinois state and federal courts, including the US district Court for the Northern District of Illinois Strong organization and communication skills, both verbal and written, and a willingness to proactively seek guidance with work tasks when necessary. Must be able to provide writing samples prior to interview. Strong research and analytical skills. Deposition experience (preferred). Meaningful litigation experience (preferred).
