Autodesk is committed to protecting the data of our global customers and employees. </div> <div></div> <div> The Data Security Counsel will work closely with the San Francisco based Data Protection, Use &amp; Ethics Legal team, the Data Privacy &amp; Governance team and Security team to implement initiatives necessary for compliance with global data security laws and regulations. The Counsel will develop strategies and initiatives to engage with key stakeholders and raise awareness of data security compliance and governance across the company. </div> <div></div> <div> The preferred location for this position would be Autodesk’s San Francisco, Boston, or Portland Office (living within a commutable distance.) The position will report to the Senior Privacy and Data Security Counsel. </div> <div></div> <div> Responsibilities </div> <ul> <li> <div> Research and track global data security legislation, evolving regulations, and enforcement and translate that into clear, concise, and actionable guidance </div></li> <li> <div> Provide counsel on domestic and international data security laws, regulations, and industry best practices, particularly related to software and cloud services </div></li> <li> <div> Partner with members of the Legal team, Security team, and Data Privacy &amp; Governance team to ensure Autodesk’s compliance with data security laws, regulations, customer and vendor contracts </div></li> <li> <div> Provide legal counsel on investigations involving reports of unauthorized access, loss or disclosure of data and provide legal support to the Incident Response team </div></li> <li> <div> Provide legal support to the Security Compliance team in connection with security certifications for Autodesk products, including SOC 2, ISO, and other industry certifications </div></li> <li> <div> Provide guidance to Legal and Product teams on data protection issues pertaining to new and existing products/features throughout the entire development lifecycle </div></li> <li> <div> Draft and negotiate data security terms in contracts with customers, vendors and business partners </div></li> <li> <div> Respond to customer data security questions </div></li> <li> <div> Provide legal support and guidance for company data security publications and content, including security whitepapers and disclosures </div></li> <li> <div> Provide legal support for various initiatives of the Security team </div></li> <li> <div> Provide legal guidance and support to the FedRAMP team </div></li> <li> <div> Provide legal guidance and support to the Product Security team in connection with software vulnerability investigation and disclosures </div></li> <li> <div> Assist in developing and maintaining Autodesk’s data security program and related policies, procedures, documentation, and communication materials </div></li> <li> <div> Assist in developing training materials and providing training to employees on data security obligations and further develop our data protection practices in the US and globally; draft data security process documents </div></li> <li> <div> Assist with renewals of the company cybersecurity policy </div></li> </ul> <div></div> <div> Minimum Qualifications </div> <ul> <li> <div> 7+ years of relevant work experience in the area of technology transactions, data security and data protection and governance </div></li> <li> <div> Expertise in US and global data security and protection laws and regulations </div></li> <li> <div> Knowledge of cybersecurity regulations and frameworks, including NIST, FedRAMP </div></li> <li> <div> Experience with data loss prevention and cybersecurity events, including forensic investigations, breach notifications and cybersecurity preparedness </div></li> <li> <div> Experience implementing global data protection and data security requirements </div></li> <li> <div> Experience representing technology and cloud-based companies </div></li> <li> <div> A proven record of success in-house and/or at a reputable law firm </div></li> <li> <div> Excellent negotiation skills, with the ability and confidence to represent Autodesk in the area of data security and protection </div></li> <li> <div> Ability to work and lead under pressure unruffled in a fast-paced environment, exhibiting timely and quality decision making </div></li> <li> <div> Exceptional written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, capable of quickly gaining the respect of and interacting comfortably with and successfully collaborating with and influencing senior leaders </div></li> <li> <div> Strong work ethic, a self-starter, action-oriented and ensures accountability </div></li> <li> <div> Law degree </div></li> <li> <div> CIPT or CIPP certification preferred </div></li> </ul> <div></div> <div> Click below to learn more about our benefits in the US. </div> <div> <div> https://benefits.autodesk.com/ </div> </div> <div></div> <div> <br> At Autodesk, we're building a diverse workplace and an inclusive culture to give more people the chance to imagine, design, and make a better world. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $139,100 and $225,060. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package. </div></div>
