Operations Counsel will support Pattern Energy’s rapid growth by supporting a variety of businesses including, but not limited to: Field Operations, Asset Management, Energy Management, Procurement, Regulatory, Engineering, Safety and Environmental. Pattern Energy is a renewable energy entrepreneurial venture, and the person must have the ability to act independently, operate proactively and have a passion and appreciation for the vision and mission of the company. <b><br> Key Accountabilities</b> <ul> <li> Attend to all aspects and issues related to renewable project operation and asset management</li> <li> Structure, draft, review and effectively negotiate a variety of commercial contracts supporting the various functions within the operations group including the project sites and the back-office support functions such as procurement, engineering, environmental, operational excellence and the regulatory compliance teams</li> <li> Ensure compliance with the company’s financing agreements and work with the financing group to obtain consents and waivers as needed to support the company’s project operations</li> <li> Assist in the development of standardized forms </li> <li>Provide education and training on various topics as well as legal policies and procedures </li> <li>Research and provide guidance on compliance, regulations, policies, and proposed legislation affecting business priorities</li> <li> Provide concise and thoughtful legal advice</li> </ul> Qualifications: <p><b> Experience/Qualifications/Education Required</b></p> <ul> <li> J.D. from a top law school, and good standing with at least one U.S. State Bar</li> <li> Minimum of five (5+) years of experience, preferably in a business legal advisory role, with experience drafting, negotiating and advising on complex commercial arrangements </li> <li>Prior experience representing operators, developers and/or generators, including in utility and/or C&amp;I markets, is a plus</li> <li> Experience advising with a commercial mindset that can come up with legal solutions is a plus </li> <li>Outstanding business acumen, decisive critical thinking skills and professional confidence</li> <li> Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects with shifting priorities, work independently and operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment</li> <li> Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.</li> <li> Prior project development and finance experience is a plus</li> <li> Prior Renewable Energy experience is a plus</li> <li> May have to travel on occasion </li> </ul> <b>Pattern Energy Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.</b> #LI-AT1 #LI-Hybrid
