THE OPPORTUNITY: We have an exciting opportunity for a Real Estate Staff Attorney with general real estate experience, including due diligence review of titles, surveys and leases to work in our Atlanta or Charlotte office. As one of the largest real estate practices in the United States, Seyfarth’s National Real Estate group of more than 130 attorneys has helped clients close some of the most notable transactions over the last several years, and is recognized for bringing creative structures to sophisticated commercial real estate matters and helping our clients achieve their goals. We have been first-to-market on many legal service delivery innovations and we continue to break new ground with our clients every day. This long history of excellence and innovation has created a culture with a sense of purpose and belonging for all. In turn, our culture drives our commitment to the growth of our clients, the diversity of our people, and the resilience of our workforce. THE DAY-TO-DAY: You will be an integral member of our Real Estate Hub team. Our Real Estate Due Diligence Hub is a team of attorneys, paralegals, and support staff who handle certain work associated with the due diligence phase of commercial real estate transactions, including title, survey, and zoning review, lease abstracting, tenant estoppel preparation and a number of other diligence tasks. You will be responsible for reviewing diligence in connection with various types of transactions (such as sales, acquisitions, development and financing on both single-property and multi-property deals), as well as managing teams of attorneys, paralegals and staff on larger projects. This is an off-track position and we are open to alternative work schedules. YOU HAVE: 5+ years of experience reviewing title reports, surveys and zoning reports on a wide range of transaction types, including multi-property transactions, and handling title clearance issues. Experience reviewing and abstracting leases is a plus. Exposure to large portfolio transactions is preferred. Excellent academic credentials, analytical skills and verbal and written communication skills required. Admission to the North Carolina or Georgia Bar is required. WHAT WE PROVIDE: We provide competitive salary and benefits at all levels. We provide comprehensive training, CLE initiatives, Seyfarth University, industry credentialing, and hands-on learning by working side-by-side with our partners. We invest in our attorneys to advance in their careers by providing opportunities for substantive client contact as well as significant involvement in case strategy and management. We are also proud to be an influential leader in inclusion and diversity. The firm has been recognized for our efforts by the Human Rights Campaign, Working Mother magazine, and the Minority Corporate Counsel Association. We are Mansfield 3.0+ certified, a reflection of our ongoing commitment to advancing candidates from underrepresented groups.
