Senior Paralegal - Finance and Real Estate

Teasdale is seeking a Senior Paralegal to join the Financial and Real Estate Services practice group. The Senior Financial and Real Estate Paralegal takes a lead role in providing all legal processes including hearings and depositions. Areas of focus could include all aspects of commercial real estate transactions and litigation matters. This position is expected to meet or exceed a billable hour model. Draft and review special tax district documents, financial statements, deeds and other property documents for recording Manage the review of legal bankruptcy documentations in preparation for hearings and depositions Oversee compliance with deadlines for filing required periodic reports with court and trustee Lead the research, drafting, and revision of bond issue documents Prepare and delegate court filings including filing Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) financing statements Support attorneys in closing transactions, such as executing checklists and reviewing supporting documentation Serve as the key point of contact for clients and is tasked with interpreting data to clients Lead the team in conducting legal research in order to prepare for depositions, hearings and trials Prepare and electronically file state court and bankruptcy court pleadings, motions, and other documents Competencies: Decision Making – Identifies issues and provides suggestions to day-to-day problems; prioritizes and effectively completes daily tasks Communication – Shares information by using data and information to support an argument or point of view; keeps team informed about progress and problems; avoids surprises; and understands the appropriate level of confidentiality required Leadership – Gives positive and constructive feedback to peers; trains new employees; finds solutions to a problem; works autonomously; and is motivated to anticipate future business needs Continuous Learning – Identifies self-training needs and opportunities; positively accepts changes Teamwork – Actively participates in the team and can provide feedback and solutions; listens and responds constructively to others’ concerns Alignment to Values - Consistently demonstrates the Firm’s values and offers constructive feedback to team members regarding the values; strives to learn more and participate in diversity and inclusion efforts; demonstrates respect by understanding and providing support Required Education: High School Diploma or equivalent Preferred Education: Associate’s degree in paralegal studies Licenses and/or Certifications: Paralegal certificate or degree Required Experience: 5+ years in legal industry or equivalent transferrable skills from industries such as insurance, government, regulatory/compliance administration; skilled in Microsoft Office Preferred Experience: 5+ years as a paralegal in the Finance and Banking industries Responsibilities: Indirect Activity: The employee will be required to sit for prolonged periods and work on a computer.
