Christian & Small is seeking an experienced Commercial Litigation Associate with a minimum of three years of litigation experience for our Birmingham, Alabama office. Job Responsibilities Prepare and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests. Confidently take and defend depositions. Effectively communicate with clients and managing attorney(s) to understand the client’s concerns. Represent clients in court, at mediations, and or settlement conferences. Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel or insurance companies. Analyze, evaluate, synthesize, and research case law, statutes, regulations, and documents impacting the firm’s clients. Communicate clearly and logically (orally and in writing) with regulatory agencies, courts, and counsel, client, and managing attorney(s). Organize and manage documents from multiple sources in the course of multidistrict and other complex litigation. Manage caseload effectively and efficiently. Try simple matters with little supervision. Job Requirements Doctor of Jurisprudence (J.D.) from an accredited law school. Minimum three years of litigation experience. Ability to work independently.
